When choosing which filters are correct for you?
Air to cloth ratio
The air-to-cloth ratio is the volumetric flow rate of air (m³/minute; SI m³/second) flowing through a dust collector’s inlet duct divided by the total cloth area (m²) in the filters. The result is expressed in units of velocity.
The air-to-cloth ratio is typically between 1.0 and 2.0 metres per minute, mainly depending on the concentration of dust loading.
It is not recommended that your filters have an air to cloth ratio above 1.8m³/min, as anything higher will dramatically decrease the life of your filters, resulting in blockages, cost of replacement filters, and system down time and maximised equipment performance.
Filter Area
Filter area is defined by the total length and width of the filter media. With pleating technology, Envi-Filter is able to dramatically increase the filter area without actually increasing the overall size of the filter.
This results in being able to increase the total air Volume, while also decreasing the overall size of the dust collector. The benefits are cheaper replacement cost and a cheaper initial collector cost.
Air Volume
The right size and dimensions of the filter is calculated by the total air volume required to perform the required task. Most applications are different, so it is recommended that you seek the professional advice from Envi-filter to calculate your required air quantities.
